The security of your Personal Information is important to us, but remember that no method of transmission over the Internet, or method of electronic storage, is 100% secure. While we strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your Personal Information, we cannot guarantee its absolute security.
COPPA Compliance
We value children’s privacy, and endeavor to protect it under the guidance of the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (“COPPA”). Our Site is designed to be used primarily by educators and parents above 13 years of age, and we generally do not require or collect personal information directly from children.
If you are a parent or educator requesting that a puzzle you create be solved online, we will collect the information you request when setting up the puzzle for online solving. If some of your solvers are under the age of 13, you should request only information that is not considered Personally Identifiable Information. This often means requesting a student ID or school-issued email (that does not contain the student’s name), instead of requesting the student’s name. Alternately, you may receive signed permission from a student’s parents for this information to be collected, either directly or through your school, school district, or state, per FTC guidance at
https://www.ftc.gov/tips-advice/business-center/guidance/complying-coppa-frequently-asked-questions-0#N.%20COPPA%20AND%20SCHOOLS.
We do not share this solver information with anyone except the puzzle creator who requested the solver information. That said, no system is 100% secure. The safest way to keep child information private is not to share it at all.
Parents, teachers, and schools have the right to view and request the deletion of any information we have collected about children under 13. Please contact us by using the 'Report an Issue' button at the top of each page to make a request.
